United Talent Agency (UTA): Commitment To Inclusion In The Workplace
For the past 17 years UTA has inspired and challenged other employers to look past labels and focus on creating meaningful job opportunities for people that are often times excluded from society.
On June 11, 2013 over 100 people attended the Vanguard Reception including Best Buddies champions Anthony Kennedy Shriver, Brian Grazer, Jeff Skoll, Bobby Kotick, Ted Sarandos, Nicole Avant, Kevin Riley, and David Spade. A total of $80,000 was raised on behalf of the Jobs Program.
With the backdrop of United Talent Agency’s brand new campus in Beverly Hills, Best Buddies Jobs California honored United Talent Agency (UTA) with the Vanguard Award for being the first employer in Los Angeles to hire a participant from our supported employment program. For the past 17 years UTA has inspired and challenged other employers to look past labels and focus on creating meaningful job opportunities for people that are often times excluded from society.
UTA’s Best Buddies Jobs participant, Colleen Moriarty, shared how her job at UTA has positively impacted her life in California and brought back her smile during a tough transition. UTA’s Chief Administrative Officer, Michael Conway, spoke about his personal desire to help someone once he became established within the entertainment industry.
Conway mentioned that working with Moriarty and Best Buddies Jobs has been a fantastic experience. During the program, Anthony Kennedy Shriver also honored 23 Best Buddies Jobs participants that had been working in their jobs for 5, 10, and 15 years.
The Vanguard Reception provided an opportunity to gather and thank esteemed Employer Partners for their commitment to inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the workplace.
