FOX Networks Hires Another Employee with Unique Abilities

Gabby at FOX Networks

Best Buddies Jobs is proud to congratulate Gabby on completing her first month as a Media Librarian at FOX Networks in the Engineering & Operations department! As a Media Librarian, Gabby pulls content from a vault of over one million tapes so that they can be delivered directly to our televisions through FOX channels daily. Once tapes are returned, Gabby is responsible for checking them back in through a comprehensive computer system, and re-shelving the m in their proper place. In such a detail oriented job, Gabby has already thrived and been able to exhibit her outstanding strengths in this position.

In addition to her job skills, Gabby is a great example of a Best Buddies ambassador by educating and empowering others with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD). In a recent post she shared, Gabby spoke out to others with IDD and wrote:

We are each superheroes in our own rights. And rather than view ourselves as ‘disabled’ like everyone else claims we are, we should say that we are ‘super-abled’ because we are.

We also applaud FOX on their commitment to creating a more inclusive workplace, as Gabby is the 4th Best Buddies Jobs participant they have employed throughout their various departments and locations.

This outstanding opportunity was made possible for Gabby through Best Buddies’ partnership with the Ruderman Family Foundation (RFF), who’s vision and mission states:

Guided by our Jewish values, the Ruderman Family Foundation believes that inclusion and understanding of all people is essential to a fair and flourishing community.

Our mission is to support effective programs, innovative partnerships and a dynamic approach to philanthropy in the following areas: advocating for and advancing the inclusion of people with disabilities throughout the Jewish community; fostering a more nuanced understanding of the American Jewish community among Israeli leaders; and modeling the practice of strategic philanthropy worldwide.

Through this partnership, Best Buddies Jobs will continue placing Jewish adults with an IDD, like Gabby, in competitive work environments in the Los Angeles community and support them throughout their employment.
